A Trip to the Hospital.

So yesterday, I had a mild breakdown and Luke suggested that I get out of the house for awhile. Well, being sick and not really able to walk anywhere, I called up my friend Jana and we went to see Breaking Dawn. I was super excited because I hadn't been to a movie with a friend since New Moon. Yeah, that long. However, the instant I sat down in the theater I was in pain. I shifted around, sat up, laid back, rubbed my belly, and nothing helped, it just seemed to get worse. I did make it through the whole movie, but towards the end when the baby is trying to get out, I felt like something was trying to claw its way out of me. I returned home thinking that if I laid down and drank some water I would feel better, but that only seemed to intensify things. When the chest pain started, and the crying wouldn't stop, I knew it was time to do something. I called my doctor who said to go straight to the ER. They took one look at me and sent me up to labor and delivery in case of preterm labor. Having had two previous babies, I knew that wasn't it. This was something completely different. They hooked me up to monitors, checked my cervix, took blood, exploded a vein - that was fun, did a urine sample, and gave me an antacid. Luke watched helplessly while I writhed in pain and cried every time the baby moved. Then, 3 hours later, it was gone. All of it. Every test came back normal, my uterus wasn't contracting, baby is normal, my cervix was still good. So what had happened to me? They have no freaking idea. The chest pain was unexplainable. As far as the belly pain, MAYBE (they are grasping at straws again) a combination of irritable uterus, slight dehydration, and severe acid reflux? That was the doctor's best guess. Having an irritable uterus is rare anyhow, but basically my body rejects pregnancy. Awesome. The whole time the baby is growing, my body is simultaneously trying to throw it out and attempting to keep it inside. It hit me while I was laying there, that I am in a semi-Bella situation. I am just grateful I don't have to drink blood :) Seriously though, if I had been in labor, that was THE WORST possible movie I could have watched just before! Anyhow, I was warned that things will be getting worse the bigger baby gets. Only ten weeks until I can be induced. It's like a mantra. Hopefully your Tuesday evening was less eventful than mine.

Arika! Not fun. I'm so sorry. Boy, both of us have had a miserable week so far. On the brighter side, I am SO glad you were able to get out with Jana and take in a movie. Breaking Dawn? Maybe not the best choice for your life right now, but pretty ironic wasn't it? :)

I can't imagine watching that movie while experiencing pregnancy pains! I'm glad your baby didn't decide to claw its way out last night. I hope you have a better day today.
