An Interesting Revelation.

I had something very interesting happen to me today. I was searching for a specific song on itunes, I thought I knew who sang it, but had no idea about the title. It was quite frustrating, but in the process I came across one Matt Nathanson. I had never heard of him, or any of his music before, but I instantly loved his song "Come on get Higher." So, I checked out the others from that album, and was pleasantly surprised that I really liked all of them. I don't often get excited about music, so I went to tell Luke about it. As soon as I said "Have you ever heard of Matt Nathanson?" He started laughing at me. Then he went to the bedroom and pulled out his Nathanson cd from 1997. Luke said he had actually seen him live back then and really like the sound and meant to get more Nathanson cd's but never had. I was super shocked. You have to understand that Luke and I have NOTHING in common, musically speaking. Which is sorta odd since we both consider ourselves fairly open minded when it comes to music. We both like pop, bluegrass, country, rap, r&b, blah blah blah...etc, etc. But, when your tastes are a decade apart, that tends to put a little kink in things. I tend to be more mainstream, but if I hear something I like, that's really all that matters. Luke however, tends to be a little more off the beaten path. He really likes things that aren't the norm. Road trip music is a huge compromise for both of us. Anyhow, I just thought it was super cool that for the first time in 5 years of marriage, we both really like the same artist. And we do have something in common, musically, after all. :)
